For the Love of Music (and Beer)

Music has been a part of Dogfish Head since before Dogfish Head. In fact, to say that we’re a bit inspired by music might be a slight understatement. From the shenanigans of our beer-geek-hip-hop band The Pain Relivaz to the beer brewed in honor of Sony Legacy artists Miles Davis and Robert Johnson, and even the live music we host at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub every Friday and Saturday night. Seriously, music is in our blood…er, beer!

With a music problem like that, it only makes sense that we would team up with Firefly as the official craft beer. To help celebrate this East Coast extravaganza we created Firefly Ale, a sessionable pale that we like to think is a highlight for more than a few festival-goers…right?

An English-style pale ale, Firefly Ale is brewed with Marris Otter barley and English heritage hops (because the Sex Pistols invented rock). To add a fruity and citrusy aroma, there’s a late addition of American Calypso hops (because the Ramones invented punk rock).

One of our favorite times of year is when Firefly rolls through our neck of the woods and we can’t for all that’s in store this year. We’ve got our headbands on the way, corn hole boards at the ready and the Firefly Ale is fermenting beautifully. June will be here before you know it…are you ready for ‘The Brewery’?
